Biography
BB Deng was grew up in Hong Kong & Taiwan. She started her musical career as the lead singer/song writer & keyboard player in rock bands in Taipei, and found out another way to express herself in music after her fist DJ-experience at ROXY, Taipei. She quickly mastered the needed skill and got invited to play at some of the most famous bars and clubs in Taiwan. It was only a short matter of time before BB DENG got asked to host the well known radio show ‘Women in Rock’.
After moving to Mainland China for her studies in Film & Art in 2002, DJ BB DENG did not let go of her passion and continue to form female Electro rock band & DJ at some well knows bars/clubs in Beijing.
In 2007, she & another famous Taiwanese DJ @llen decided to open their own club “The Boat”in Beijing which combines live music & DJ parties, they started to make name in the Chinese underground music scene. At the same time she got picked up by the larger clubs in Beijing and Shanghai, which was only a tip of the iceberg for BB DENG’s musical career in China ahead of her. With her favorite music style, going from Techno, Tech House, Minimal to Deep House, BB DENG was soon to join China’s electronic music label ‘Acupuncture Records’ in 2012 and quickly build up an impressive portfolio of event experiences. She was DJ and co-organizer for INTRO 2012 & 2013, China’s first independent Electronic Music Festival, was headliner and stage director for IN Music Festival (Mongolia) and played at the Official After-party for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
BB DENG also performs for international brand launches and corporate events such as Porsche, BMW, Nike, Chloe, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Citroen, Intel, Mo & Co and Nokia only to name a few, making BB DENG one of the most sought-out after DJs for International brand events in China.
Now with over years of DJ and event organizing experience, BB DENG is listed amongst one of the top Electronic Music artists in China. In 2013 BB DENG took an even higher step up and started her own independent event brand DISOBEDIENCE Movement, with which she already shortly after got asked to host one of the stages at INTRO Festival 2013 & the DJ stage at Strawberry music festival. At the same year, she got the 2013 Outstanding DJ awards from English media “Thebeijinger”.
BB DENG also got invited from the Dutch embassy in China to be the only artist to perform at the launch party of 2013 Beijing Design week Guest city Amsterdam. Then invited to fly to Netherlands to speak and perform at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2013, World’s largest Electronic Dance Music Conference. With this experience, DJ BB Deng started to get international known.
In 2014 Strawberry music festival, China. DJ BB Deng was not only performing in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Changchun, she was also organizing her label Disobedience Movement stage on May 31st in Chengdu, China.
She had performed with international DJs such as Electric Indigo, Mark Reeve, Remy, Warren Fellow, Alex Flatner, Man with no shadow, Secret Sinema, Nakadia, Dusty Kid, Sander kleinenberg..etc.
Beside Strawberry music festival, in 2014, BB Deng was performing some big events such as: Yen 10 years party, Yinchuan Green fest, Changyang Modern sky music festival, Chongqing Jinfo mountain music festival and also continue her China tour in Kunming, Dali, Haerbin…etc cities.
In 2015, DJ BB Deng officially signed with Dutch DJ agency – Mad Panda ( sponsored by Art of Dance and Modern sky), becoming the headliner of events & music festivals they organized. At the same year, BB Deng has took a step up to become a music producer.
In 2015 and 2016, BB Deng got invited twice to perform in France, Germany , Austria, Netherlands & Croatia for her Europe DJ tours. She was playing at VERSET Festival in France, Zugder Liebe (Love parade) in Berlin, Rave for humanity charity party in Amsterdam and some other clubs as well.
She has also signed by British electronic music products brand – Novation in 2016, to be their endorser in China. Same year she was announced the No. 7 Djane at Djane Mag China and her first remix is coming out at Kuukou records (Berlin) in Feb 2017.
