聯合國教科文組織大會宣佈4月30日為「國際爵士樂日」，更譽其為「推廣和平、團结以及增强各國人民對話與合作的一股力量」。
為響應「國際爵士樂日」，康樂及文化事務署請來多位重量級國際及本地爵士音樂家主持一連串工作坊，並舉行本港少見的大型馬拉松式爵士樂音樂會。觀眾可於一天內欣賞不同國家、不同風格、不同演繹方法的爵士樂，包括主流爵士樂（Mainstream Jazz）、當代爵士樂（Contemporary Jazz）、糅合放克（Funk）與非洲節奏風格的爵士樂、獨特的爵士口琴三重奏等。每節音樂會都有外地和本地的樂手同台演出，高手過招，即興演奏，勢必迸發出無限火花！同場還設有多個攤位，參加者更可以於簽名區與樂手作近距離接觸。不論你是熱情不減的資深樂迷，還是剛剛入門的新手聽眾，這項國際盛事都不容錯過！

The UNESCO General Conference proclaimed 30 April as “International Jazz Day” and praised Jazz as “a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people”.
In celebration of the International Jazz Day, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has invited acclaimed international and local jazz musicians to present a series of workshops, and a large-scale jazz marathon concert that is rarely seen in Hong Kong. All in a single day, audience will be able to appreciate jazz from different origins and in different styles and forms of presentation, like mainstream jazz, contemporary jazz, jazz blended with funk and African beats, and jazz by a unique harmonica trio. Each session will include overseas and local jazz musicians, improvisations and “playoffs” to spark chemistry! Enjoy the myriad of special activities inside and outside the arena including the autograph session. Whether you are an experienced aficionado or a complete newbie, this is an international event not to be missed!
