The Big BandExpress
This Big BandExpress was born in Hong Kong on January 2016 by the leadership of Oliver Cura. It is the expansion of The BandExpress with the addition of more musicians to excel the arrangements in big band formation.
The origin of big band was in the 30s-40s for playing jazz swing tunes . However, The Big BandExpress is gonna give a different vibes by playing a diversity of genres from RnB, Funk, Rock, Latin, Pop and Movie Soundtracks.
Apart from playing the great hits from Mark Taylor, Sammy Nestico,Blues Brothers, Michael Buble, Ides of March, Chuck Mangione and to mention a few.
It consists musicians from different bands like The BandExpress, La Petite Jazzy Jam, former HK Disneyland musicians and some other active jazz musicians in town. In a big band formation of 18 musicians with a full rhythm section and full brass and woodwind parts, which gives the tunes a rich and dynamic tone.
